Felicia Rodriguez, Account Manager, Deardens
Felicia began her career with DSI Delivery in 2005 as a temporary dispatcher at Dearden’s. Based on her initial performance and ability to effectively integrate with her fellow employees, she became a permanent member of the DSI/Dearden’s team within a few months. Since then, Felicia has learned the business from the ground up, has received several promotions, and now holds the position of Account Manager at Dearden’s.
Felicia’s responsibilities are numerous, including invoice preparation, profitability analysis, working with her base of six sub-hauler delivery teams, and interfacing with client management. Her recent promotion required Felicia to create new relationships with both sub-hauler delivery teams and co-workers, which was challenging at first, she admits. “I worked hard to gain their respect in my new position, and now we all work smoothly together as a team.”
“I consider it a gift to work here with my supervisor, Terri Overton, the entire DSI staff and everyone at Dearden’s,” she says. “After being here for five years, and knowing Dearden’s employees as well as my colleagues at DSI, it’s like a second home.”
Terri Overton, Account Executive at Dearden’s, notes that “Felicia has made the transition to the management level successfully and is now integral in supporting the account. She is dedicated, commands the respect of her co-workers, sub-hauler delivery teams and the client, and brings a positive attitude to work every day. It’s truly a pleasure to have Felicia working with me.”
Felicia’s goal as Dearden’s Account Manager is to excel at her job. To help accomplish this, she intends to communicate more often with the corporate office staff. “I’m already receiving a great deal of guidance and support from Terri and the home office,” Felicia says, “but I know communication is the key to any relationship, so keeping those lines open is critical, and improving them is important as well.”
Before joining DSI, Felicia worked for a printer until she took time off to start her family. When she decided to return to the work force, she was hired by DSI, and as she says, “the rest is history.” Felicia’s family consists of her husband and 2 children: her 6-year old son, and a 3-year old daughter. Like so many other DSI employees, Felicia enjoys spending free time with her family, usually at the beach or a nearby park. |
