Babak Ghaznavi, Paul’s TV
Babak
Ghaznavi, President of Paul’s TV in Southern California, has
overseen their rapid expansion from one to four stores. “Paul’s
has been in business for 50 years,” he says, “our original
store still operates in the same location in La Habra.”
In a unique marketing concept, Paul’s new showrooms are located
within Living Spaces home furnishings stores in Van Nuys, La Mirada,
and Rancho Cucamonga. This strategic relationship with Living Spaces
has enabled Paul’s to expand quickly throughout the southland.
Ghaznavi joined Paul’s TV two years ago when the company
was acquired by a new ownership group. He has over twenty years
experience in the electronics industry, including eighteen years
with The Good Guys, culminating with the position of Vice President
– Sales & Operations.
He maintains a strong focus on the welfare of his employees. “I
want to help them achieve their life’s goals,” he says.
“The happier they are as individuals, the more successful
they will be in their career. I believe that as a company, we’re
only as good as our employees.”
Paul’s transitioned from an in-house delivery operation to
Delivery Solutions in December 2007. Babak notes “Our rapid
growth dictated we become more efficient with our customer deliveries.
Furthermore, we now have the ability to adjust the number of trucks
operating daily according to our customer volume. This makes us
more cost effective as well.”
Ghaznavi stresses the importance of being “on the same wavelength”
with DSI and its management team as critical to its success, and
the overall quality of the operation. With his guidance, Paul’s
TV is very focused on doing whatever is best for the customer. This
includes a commitment to impart additional expertise to the delivery
teams relative to products and services, especially critical with
“emerging technologies” in TV & audio items. He
observes, “This allows the delivery personnel to leave the
warehouse in a timely manner, and maintain the customer delivery
time windows consistently.”
A resident of Irvine, Babak’s family includes his wife and
three children, ages 3, 5, and 7; and Jolie, their French bulldog.
“We can’t forget our dog…” he laughs.
