Employee Profile
Manya Wilson, Human Resources Manager
Manya
Wilson joined the DSI family as Human Resources Manager in March
of this year. Her many responsibilities include staffing, developing
training and orientation programs, ensuring that legal requirements
and compliance regulations are met, and administering a performance
review program.
Manya has over 20 years experience in the field, most recently
with Home Depot. “There, I was an HR manager at the store
level, part of a much larger organization. Most of the issues dealt
with workers’ compensation and employee relations.”
“At DSI, I have the opportunity to build a whole new department.
And I’m more autonomous. It’s very exciting.”
“For example, I’m planning to introduce new HR software,”
she adds. “This will help automate what has previously been
done manually. The technology will streamline operations and free
up everyone’s time.”
Clearly enthusiastic about her role at DSI, Manya believes the
keys to her success will be “building on relationships and
leading by example.” The DSI veterans “have a lot to
share, and I’m open to
suggestion.”
Manya’s immediate goals are to visit each DSI site. “I
want to put faces with names. I know they have a lot of information
for me, and I want them to know personally that I’m here for
them.”
In an effort to expand her knowledge and prepare for DSI’s
future growth, Manya is working on a doctorate degree in educational
leadership and curriculum. It doesn’t leave her with much
free time, she says. “My l6 year old son, school and church
keep me busy when I’m away from the office.”
Manya, a native Southern Californian, was born in Gardena and
raised in Orange County. She revealed that her first name is a Russian
derivative of Maria, but is also rooted in the traditions of South
America as well as other countries. “It’s historical
and multicultural,” she adds proudly.
We all welcome Manya to the Delivery Solutions Team!
