Alice Jones, Account Manager Naturwood
 After
spending three years working at Naturwood Home Furnishings in the
Customer Service Department, Alice Jones joined DSI’s Naturwood
team during the delivery transition in May of 2004. She began work
as a Dispatcher for Delivery Solutions, moved quickly through the
ranks becoming a Delivery Supervisor, and most recently was promoted
to Account Manager for this Sacramento area client.
As part of her daily activities, Alice maintains a close relationship
with both client and contractors. “It’s important to
me to keep everyone happy,” she says. Alice’s responsibilities
include supervising the dispatch and routing functions, handling
merchandise and in-home damage claims, and managing the billing
process. Now that Naturwood has three locations, including their
clearance center, “Orchestrating all of the delivery activity
keeps me busy, but I like it that way,” she says.
Alice believes a good deal of her success comes from “being
proactive, staying ahead of the game. I like to think ‘outside
the box,’ and make contingency plans.” Apparently her
efforts are paying off, as confirmed by Jonathan Arrendale, North
Group Director. “Alice is one of the most dedicated and committed
associates in our North Group. She commands respect with her no
nonsense approach to the job, but manages to have fun along the
way…We are lucky to have Alice running the show at Naturwood.”
Her next goal is to become a Regional Manager with DSI. Alice likes
the excitement of being part of a growing company, and appreciates
the way DSI takes care of their own. “There’s so much
support,” she says. “It may seem like a small thing,
but I felt great when DSI people from all over the state called
to congratulate me on my promotion.”
Alice lives in Northern California with her husband and seven year
old son. Attending her son’s football and boxing activities
keeps her busy after work. “When I’m not being a sports
mom though, I love to read and sing, she says.” In pursuit
of her passion for music, Alice and her husband, a professional
musician, perform at local events.
