Contractor Profile

Hector Sibrian, Sibrian Trucking

Victor AguirreHector Sibrian, owner/operator of Sibrian Trucking, believes he owes his success to good communication and teamwork. “The managers and I work together to solve issues before they become problems,” he says. “The key is my relationship with everyone at DSI. They always give me 100% support.”

Hector began his career in the delivery business six years ago as a helper, and began driving for another company a year later. Due to his experience both as a helper and driver, Hector was confident in starting his own operation, Sibrian Trucking, in 2001. “I’ve expanded now to three trucks. It’s just the right number for me to maintain a high standard of excellence while earning a nice income,“ he says.

Regional Manager Roy Siu of Delivery Solutions agrees. “After only one month of service with our new client, Scandinavian Design, everyone had positive things to say about Hector’s professional and personable approach to each delivery.”

When Hector is ready to retire from trucking “sometime in the future,” he would like to remain with DSI in a management capacity. “DSI is a great company,” he declares. “I truly believe in our philosophy, ’Whatever it takes, we deliver.’ “ Hector adds to that, ”Whatever we do, we help people out.”

He recalls an incident when helping someone out meant first getting past the customers’ two dogs. “The dogs jumped on both me and my helper, “he remembers. “They hung on me and pulled on my uniform. Then they jumped on the customer, frightening her as well. It was amazing that we were able to get into the house and complete the delivery.”

Like everyone in the transportation industry today, Hector must deal with rising fuel prices. Although he appreciates DSI’s fuel surcharge subsidy, he says “it’s still important to adjust my routes whenever possible to reduce route mileage and avoid long runs.”

Hector makes his home in Northern California and is “happily married with a beautiful four-year-old daughter.” He loves to go out with his family. “My little girl loves to shop,” he tells the Dispatch. “And you won’t believe this, but she already asked me to get her a laptop!”
