DSI Salutes Contractors With Appreciation
Week
In
Delivery Solutions’ continuing effort to recognize and support
its delivery teams, the company recently held the first annual “Contractor
Appreciation Week.” In the past, contractor recognition
events have taken place randomly and with less formality. Dave Drury,
South Group Director, led the charge to create a week long celebration,
officially designated Contractor Appreciation Week (CAW).
DSI’s clients also stepped up to participate and contribute
to the program.
In
celebration of the week, banners were posted at all locations and
DSI managers and client staff wore pins commemorating the event.
“We recognize the difficulty of the contractor’s job,”
states Vice President and General Manager, Jim Forman. “We
want to formally acknowledge their dedication towards DSI and our
clients.”
South
Group festivities were highlighted by a catered breakfast provided
at the Sit ‘N Sleep corporate offices in Gardena. Owners Larry
Miller and Nelson Bercier along with key client management, including
Howard Cooper and Jean-Loup Sommier, attended the breakfast and
personally expressed their gratitude to the contractors and helpers.
Sit ‘N Sleep also helped fund the raffle and door prizes that
were distributed.
At
Mattress Gallery in Commerce, Dave and Account Manager Karen Colindres
organized breakfast at a local eatery for the contractors and assistants.
Client representatives Debbie Lopez and Gill Gonzales participated,
and paid high compliments to the delivery personnel. Contractors
based at Circuit City in Walnut were also treated to breakfast,
at which Circuit City Home Delivery Manager Vicky Tomovich expressed
their appreciation, donating gift cards and other raffle prizes.
In
DSI’s North Group, the Sleep Train/Mattress Discounters delivery
teams in Hayward were honored with a catered breakfast at the Distribution
Center that included a raffle and door prizes. Jonathan
Arrendale indicates plans are well underway to celebrate at his
other accounts in September. Strong support is coming from clients
like Natalie Kaaiawahia, Circuit City Livermore Delivery Manager,
who will help host that location’s upcoming event. She says,
“The contractors are integral to our success. It’s important
to let them know that we appreciate how hard they work for us.”
Jonathan
believes CAW is just another example of the company’s focus
on contractors, and is a major factor differentiating Delivery Solutions
from its competitors. According to him, “It’s
certainly one of the main reasons our turnover rate is among the
lowest in the trucking industry.”
Congratulations to Dave Drury, Jonathan Arrendale and their respective
staffs for making the inaugural Contractor Appreciation Week
a tremendous success. A special Thanks to our clients, who again
demonstrated their commitment to DSI and to doing “Whatever
It Takes” to build a successful business relationship.
